MODERNISM WEEK OFFERS EXCITING EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES AT CAMP IN DOWNTOWN PALM SPRINGS
Modernism Week’s CAMP (“Community And Meeting Place”) will serve as a central hub for Modernism Week from February 12–22, 2026. CAMP returns to the dramatic, beautifully designed Hyatt Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive at 285 North Palm Canyon Drive, with free underground parking. Entrance to CAMP is free and open to the public every day during Modernism Week, from 9 AM to 5 PM., starting February 12. CAMP is also the ‘depot’ for arrivals and departures of all Modernism Week’s Double Decker Architectural Bus Tours.
Located in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, CAMP will include talks and films, free events, an information desk, all-day food and beverage offerings from the Hyatt Hotel, complimentary daily coffee from Koffi, and pop-up store and events by Destination PSP, including multiple book signings. Two free ‘Friday Afternoon Fun’ events will take place each week, featuring a themed costume contest and complimentary hors d’oeuvres. In addition, there will be displays from Modernism Week sponsors, including Dunn-Edwards Paints, Flor, and Tidelli.
“CAMP is the central meeting place for all things Modernism Week,” said David Dixon, Creative Director and CAMP Manager. “Our guests may discover activities to attend, find unique items at our Destination PSP pop-up store, and relax and visit with fellow modernists. I am most excited about the new, dramatic 60-foot-long LED video wall that will showcase curated video and photos featuring the Coachella Valley’s collection of incredible modernist architecture. If Palm Springs is the epicenter of modernism, CAMP is the epicenter of Modernism Week.”

The new Newcomers Reception on Thursday, February 12, at 2 PM, is a casual drop-in gathering where participants may meet fellow attendees, chat with experienced Modernism Week insiders, and discover hidden gems they might otherwise miss. The event is free to attend and will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar while mingling with new friends in the heart of CAMP.
Tools for Tomorrow Receives Social Impact Award to Expand Arts Education for Local Youth
A quiet but meaningful moment of recognition unfolded recently in the Coachella Valley, where The Rapp Foundation hosted a surprise Social Impact Award presentation honoring a local nonprofit and one of its most dedicated volunteers for their commitment to youth arts education.
Tools for Tomorrow, represented by executive leadership member Andrea Hecht, was recognized alongside longtime volunteer Suzanne Frumkin. The award included $1,000 in funding presented by La Boutique Pharmacy through owner Chandra Patel. Of the total amount, $500 was designated directly to Frumkin in acknowledgment of her personal volunteer service, with the remaining $500 directed to the organization’s programming.
The contribution will be used to strengthen Tools for Tomorrow’s after-school initiatives, which provide children across the Coachella Valley access to instruction in visual arts, music, creative writing, and theater. Organizers said the funding will go toward essential classroom needs including art supplies, books, and educational materials for elementary students.
“This is going to make a huge difference to the children of the Coachella Valley,” organizers shared during the presentation. “It gives our kids an opportunity to develop their passions and express their emotions.”
Founded more than 27 years ago, Tools for Tomorrow has built a consistent presence in local schools and community spaces, focusing on creative expression as a pathway to confidence, emotional development, and academic engagement. Its programs emphasize hands-on learning and equitable access to the arts, particularly for students who might otherwise lack such opportunities.
Frumkin, reflecting on the recognition, expressed appreciation for the award and noted that it reinforces the importance of making the arts accessible to young people beyond the traditional classroom day.
The Social Impact Award itself spotlights local organizations and individuals whose work directly benefits the community, underscoring how small investments — both financial and personal — can generate lasting returns. In this case, a modest grant and years of volunteer dedication continue to help shape brighter futures for Coachella Valley youth, one paintbrush, page, and performance at a time.
